WAVES Write a Letter

The WAVES who trained in Stillwater often wrote back to one of their beloved teachers, Mr. Leake. In their letters, the WAVES thanked him and his wife for the hospitality they showed. The WAVES wrote that they missed Stillwater and the fun times that they had while there. They told Mr. Leake about the new friends they were making, the fun they were having, and the work they were doing. Many of these letters can be viewed on the WAVES Digital Collection page on the OSU Library website. Using the paper provided, pretend that you are a WAVE and write to a friend, relative, or teacher, telling them what it is like to be in the WAVES program.

Instructions

Print the special WAVES Insignia paper.
Write a letter.
With an adult’s help, address the letter and put it in the mail.
