WAVES Notebook Activity

In this activity, you will make a notebook with the WAVES insignia. As WAVES began classes at Oklahoma State University, they needed to take notes on the class material. Once you’ve created your notebook, write down some interesting facts or observations.

Supplies

• WAVES Insignia paper (provided)
• Scissors
• Brown paper (such as the inside of a paper sack)
• WAVES Insignia (provided)
• Hole punch
• Ribbon or yarn

Instructions

1. Using the scissors, cut the WAVES Insignia out.
2. Cut a cover out of the brown paper, large enough to cover the front and back of the Insignia paper.
3. Fold the pieces of paper in half so that the 11” side of the paper is now 5.5”.
4. Stack the pieces of paper. The brown cover must be on the bottom and if there is a picture on the brown sack, the picture must be on the inside of the notebook. Stack the insignia paper on top of the cover. Align the paper and make two hole punches, one at the top and one at the bottom.
5. Thread the ribbon through the holes and tie in a bow on the outside of the notebook.
6. Glue the WAVES insignia to the front of the notebook.
