African American Student Experience at OSU from 1950-1975

The African American Student Experience at OSU from 1950-1975 oral history collection documents the early experiences of African American students between the integration of graduate degrees in 1950 and the years following the Black Student Boycott in 1970. Interviews are organized into various series that focus on topics including the organizers and participants of the 1970 Black Student Boycott, the establishment of the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha in 1958, the establishment of other chapters of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (or the Divine Nine), efforts to recruit and hire African Americans into professional positions and STEM graduate fields, and the relationship between OSU and the south Stillwater African American community known as 'the Ville.'
