Edmon Low Library builds connections at Oklahoma State Capitol event

Edmon Low Library and library representatives from across the state attended the first annual Library Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma City on April 29, 2026. In partnership with the Oklahoma Library Association, Oklahoma Department of Libraries and state Rep. Michelle McCane, the event provided legislators and visitors the opportunity to connect and engage.

The Library was represented by professor Matt Upson; associate dean for distinctive collections Mary Larson; assistant professor Chris Rosser; and Edmon Low Creative Studios director Shannon Austin. The group highlighted the Library's emerging technology and research initiatives in information literacy, AI studies and digital humanities.

"It was exciting to represent Oklahoma State University Libraries at the inaugural event and inspiring to see how libraries across the state represent and empower the institutions and communities we serve," Rosser said. "Libraries have always led the way in helping people understand and engage with emerging technologies. Our leadership in AI literacy will be no different."
