Jay Dawes
Author and Editor of "Developing Agility and Quickness" (Second Edition)

Jay Dawes Ph.D., CSCS,*D, NSCA-CPT, ASCA-L2, FNSCA, is an assistant professor of applied exercise science in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Dawes has worked as a university athletic performance coordinator, strength/performance coach, personal trainer and educator for approximately 20 years. His primary research interests are focused on improving the health, fitness and human performance for the tactical athletes/first responder, as well as sport. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a certified strength and conditioning specialist with distinction and an NSCA-certified personal trainer with distinction and a tactical strength and conditioning-facilitator, the American College of Sports Medicine as a clinical exercise specialist (CES); and is recognized by the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association as a Level 2 strength and conditioning coach.
Dr. Dawes has a broad background in strength and conditioning, with specific training and expertise in training and conditioning methods for athletes and first responders. In the last decade, he has specifically focused on the optimization of human performance and injury prevention with law enforcement officers and cadets.
