Missy Hannan is a native Oklahoman, wife, mom and a big-hair aficionado. She is a senior graphic designer and has been with Fire Protection Publications for 20 years. She graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a degree in graphic art, industrial technology. She started her career at FPP in the Marketing department. In Marketing, she traveled extensively and had the opportunity to see first-hand how important International Fire Service Training Association/Fire Protection Publications products are to the fire service as well to all firefighters. During these years, she developed a strong sense of devotion and a deep appreciation for the fire service.

She’s a vibrant, hard-working creative professional who’s just as passionate about the details as she is the overall picture. She will always enjoy finding the fun in life’s little nooks and crannies.

She met her husband at Fire Protection Publications and together they have a happy, healthy 10-year-old future Firefighter.

“Fire Prevention Applications" 2nd edition presents fire prevention methods for comprehensive risk reduction strategies in detail. Community coalition building to solve present-day community risk challenges is emphasized.

The book meets the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education model Fire Prevention Organization and Management course. It can be used as a guide to implement a modern fire prevention and risk reduction program. It also provides fire prevention organizational structures, staffing options; with emphasis on successfully overcoming the challenges fire prevention and risk reduction bureaus face today.

The curriculum covers all 14 chapters of the “Fire Prevention Applications" 2nd edition. The components are designed for use in both a traditional face-to-face and hybrid classroom environment.

"Occupational Safety, Health, and Wellness" 4th edition is all new and meets the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education learning outcomes and lesson outlines for the associates course, Occupational Safety and Health for Emergency Responders.

Fire and emergency responder safety is a primary responsibility of all emergency services organizations and responders. This manual provides guidance to achieve the requirements of NFPA 1500, Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program. The content is a guide to a comprehensive occupational safety, health, and wellness program in a fire and emergency response organization.

The curriculum includes a plan of instruction, syllabus, learning objectives, review questions, instructor outlines, PowerPoint presentation and chapter test.
