Charles Abramson

Dr. Charles I. Abramson is a Regents professor and holds the Lawrence L. Boger professorship in International Studies. Over his 26 years at Oklahoma State University he has published almost 300 articles and book chapters. He is also the author or co-author of 20 books. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and research both in the United States and abroad including being inducted in the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical, and Natural Sciences and being inducted into both the Oklahoma Educators hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame.

His area of research is in the comparative analysis of behavior. As a comparative psychologist his work has taken him to over 20 countries where he investigates a wide range of both applied and theoretical problems. His previous book was a co-edited volume titled "Psychology Gone Astray: A Selection of Racist & Sexist Literature from early Psychological Research.”

“The Propeller Experiment Controller: Automation for the Comparative Analysis of Behavior in Research and Teaching” describes how to use the propeller micro-controller for teaching, laboratory and field research. A complete behavioral laboratory can be placed "in the palm of your hand." The controller is inexpensive, easy to program, and can be adapted to a wide range of purposes.
