Harrison Jackson of Enid Wins OSU Research Award

$1,500 presented for First Place

Harrison Jackson, Oklahoma Bible Academy graduate and Enid native, received the Oklahoma State University Library's first ever Undergraduate Library Research Award. The award, which recognized excellence in research, critical thinking and self-reflection, includes a $1,500 prize.

Jackson is a December 2014 graduate of OSU and majored in economics and history. He is the son of Beth and Doug Jackson of Enid.

Jackson took part in the competition to reflect on his research work from a previous research paper on German historian, Heinrich Von Treitschke and the militarization project of Germany.

"I like that this award allowed me to look back on the research process, which I felt was not only beneficial for that experience but for future experiences as well," Jackson said.

Matt Upson, director of library undergraduate services, launched the award at OSU.

"The award provides an incentive for students to consciously engage with Library resources and demonstrates the Library's commitment to supporting student research in a tangible way," Upson said.

The Undergraduate Library Research Award is funded by the OSU Library in collaboration with the Henry Bellmon Office of Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research. For more information on the award and Jackson's achievements at the OSU library, visit info.library.okstate.edu/researchaward.
